Police are investigating a shooting incident that happened late Sunday night in a southwest Wichita neighborhood.

The shooting was reported around 9 p.m. in the 3000 block of South Everett.  That’s a neighborhood northeast of the intersection of 31st Street South and Meridian.

Police said a 15-year-old boy was found with two gunshot wounds to his abdomen.  He was taken to a hospital where he was in stable condition after surgery.

Police said the shooting happened during the commission of a crime, and they’re still looking into the circumstances.  A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the shooting, and information will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for the filing of formal charges.
