The director of the Wichita Art Museum is leaving to join a prominent national arts foundation.

Anne Kraybill has served as director and chief executive officer since August, 2022.  She was previously the director of The Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She took over for Dr. Patricia McDonnell, who retired in April after serving nearly ten years.   Kraybill announced that she will become the Chief Executive Officer of the Art Bridges Foundation, which was chaired and founded by philanthropist Alice Walton to expand access to art.    The Foundation, based in Bentonville, Arkansas, has a partnership with over 230 museums across the U.S, including the Wichita Art Museum.

TeOndra Phillips, a trustee and treasurer of the Wichita Art Museum, will serve as Interim Director.   Museum curator Tera Hedrick and Assistant Director and Chief Financial Officer Jan Harper will serve as Interim Deputy Directors.
