Threats against Colorado Supreme Court justices who barred former President Donald Trump from the state’s Republican primary ballot are flooding social media. That’s what a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that conducts public interest research is reporting.
The group Advance Democracy has identified what it calls significant violent rhetoric against the justices, often in response to Trump’s posts about Tuesday’s ruling on his Truth Social platform. The group reports some social media users posted justices’ email addresses, phone numbers, and office building addresses.
Colorado’s supreme court, in a 4-3 ruling, said Trump is not eligible to become president again, because he engaged in insurrection in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. Trump’s campaign said it would appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court
The Colorado Republican Party is hitting back at its state’s Supreme Court for the decision to keep former President Donald Trump off the 2024 state primary ballot. Colorado GOP Chairman Dave Williams says he has come up with a plan that will ensure Colorado voters can choose the candidate they want. Williams says he wants to use the caucus system if he has to. It can be a little complex for voters, but he believes it’s the best way to make sure voters get their voices heard.
