I think every day this week there has been a Jelly Roll story in the Country Music Minute, but none more important than this one. Jason “Jelly Roll” DeFord delivered an opening statement at a Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee hearing yesterday about fentanyl awareness and legislative solutions to stop illegal smuggling of the opioid. Jelly Roll said, “Fentanyl transcends partisanship and ideology…this is a totally different problem.”

The People’s Choice Awards nominations are out. Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen are up for the all-genre male artist of the year. Lainey Wilson and Taylor Swift nominated in the all-genre female category and Jelly Roll got nominated for all-genre new artist.

It’s already on my playlist….while you were sleeping Scotty McCreery released “Can’t Pass The Bar” and it is 100% fun.

And Kane Brown just released a tease for a new, very personal song about depression and I think it’s a song we can all releate to and it’s an important open, musical look, at the battles with depression.
