Bundle up, it is going to be a really, really cold weekend. That is really the top of the list.  Now, here are the 5 THINGS (other than the cold) that you need to know.

1. A week after a Boeing 737 Max door fell out of the sky from an Alaskan Airlines flight, Federal Aviation Officials launch probe into whether Boeing followed safety protocols when securing door plugs on 737 MAX-9 models

2. ESPN is in the penalty box. The network has been forced to return 37 Emmys to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) after investigations revealed that ESPN had submitted bogus names for award consideration—presumably to circumvent NATAS rules governing who can win awards.

3. Things to do around Wichita this weekend.  Kathleen Madigan is at the Orpeum tonight and the Bridal Expo is at Century II

4. One month down, 8 to go on the 9-month Royal Caribbean cruise around the world that left Miami right before the new year. TikTok is obsessed with it, especially since the scary journey through “Drake’s Passage”

5.  And before Oreo there was Hydrox, I say was because where have all the Hydrox cookies gone.  In something that sounds like the making of a Netflix docuseries, Oreo cookie maker Nabisco is being accused of burying it’s competition by influencing grocers and their shelf space through back door deals.
