1. The first US execution using nitrogen gas is expected to beĀ carried out today in Alabama after the Supreme Court rejected arguments that the procedure was at risk of being carried out incorrectly. The inmate, 58-year-old Kenneth Smith, was convicted in a 1988 murder-for-hire plot.Ā  When given 100% nitrogen, Kenneth Smith will basically suffocate due to lack of oxygen in the gas.

 

 

 

2. A data breach hit Kansas Joint and Spine Specialists, specifically affecting 397 Texas patients. Names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial information (e.g. account number, debit or credit card number), medical information, health insurance information, and date of birth were compromised in the breach. Kansas Joint and Spine Specialists say their patients have been notified by mail. The letter includes more information and a number for patients to call if they have questions.

 

 

 

 

3. Put the Feb. 12th reminder in your device. Jon Stewart is coming back to the Daily Show.Ā  During the election year and possibly extending beyond, Jon will host the show on Monday nigth and will oversee the overall production of the show the rest of the week.

 

 

 

4. “The writing seems to be on the wall”, according to an insider who says Blake and Gwen are heading toward divorce. Blake and Gwen both took to the socials yesterday to talk about “going on the road”. I’m hoping it’s not true, because from all outward appearances, this musical couple and family seems to have it’s act together. Only time will tell

 

 

 

5.Ā  and the U.S. and England are going to war over tea again.Ā  An American scientist in Pennsylvania says the perfect cup of tea is made with a pinch of salt to do away with the bitterness.Ā  The response from one British journalist- “Well, I guess we’re going to war again.” Thankfully, the U.S. Embassy stepped in and said the practice of adding salt will never be a thing and not interfere with the special relationship shared between the two countries.Ā  Now, if we can just call Soccer – Soccer and Football, Football…
