The jury in Donald Trump’s civil defamation trial involving writer E. Jean Carroll is ordering the former President to pay her over 83-million dollars. A New York City jury found Trump liable last year of sexually abusing Carroll in a department store dressing room in the 1990’s and then defaming her after the alleged incident. Trump has maintained his innocence throughout the trial.
Former President Trump says he plans on appealing the jury’s verdict in his civil defamation trial involving writer E. Jean Carroll. On his Truth Social page, Trump said the ruling was “absolutely ridiculous” and that he “fully disagrees” with the verdict. He promised to appeal the decision, saying “our legal system is out of control and being used as a political weapon.”
