Connie Smith, the late-’70s chart-topper later known as “The Tennessee Yodeler” leaves behind a catalog filled with country and Christian hits. She scored scored two No. 1 songs in 1978: “Don’t Break the Heart That Loves You” and “It Only Hurts for a Little While.” She had her first taste of success with her 1975 top ten single “There I Said It”. Chris Young has broken his silence after his run in with Tennessee ABC officials a week and a half ago. On social media he showed off a couple of nasty bruises with the caption “Waaaaay too close to my spine”. This had some in the comments speculating a lawsuit could be filed soon, while others supported the officers actions.

Thanks to middle school kids across the country John Denver is enjoying a bit of a comeback. For some unexplained reason, his song “Take Me Home Country Roads” is popular with the kids. A teacher at one school posted a trending video and she was clearly as shocked as I was, but apparently it’s a thing. That should make Dalton Dover happy who just covered the song as part of his new EP.
