Here are the 5 things you need to know
1. A school closing plan has been presented to the Wichita School Board, in an effort to address a budget shortfall for the next school year. It calls for the closing of the Clark, Cleveland Magnet, Park and Payne elementary schools and Hadley and Jardine middle schools.

2. Former President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court to delay his federal election interference trial, and has appealed a lower court’s ruling on his presidential immunity claim
3. It appears this season of American Idol will be Katy Perry’s last. She made the announcement on Jimmy Kimmel before telling her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
4. Cities around the world are set to celebrate Mardi Gras today, the final day before the Christian fasting and religious observance period of Lent begins. Mardi Gras is the culmination of Carnival season, which officially begins Jan. 6 every year—the 12th day after Christmas—and ends the day before Ash Wednesday.
5. And we may not know the answer to the question, “what came first the chicken or the egg” but an egg found recently in England is raising a lot of other questions. The only intact chicken’s egg found from Roman Britain is now thought to be the only one of its type in the world – after scientists found it still had liquid inside. The egg, which is about 1,700 years old, was found during a dig in Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. Researchers said at the time it was a “genuinely unique discovery”. However, they admitted they were “blown away” recently to find it still contained the yolk and egg white. How is this egg still in one piece when I have to spend 20 minutes at the egg case at the grocery store opening dozen after dozen until I find a carton where no eggs are cracked…..
and THAT’S TRENDING
