Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors Korean War Veteran Richard Pettti. Next time your in Omaha, visit Pettit’s Pastry, a 70-year old, 3rd generation bakery on the north side of town. Mark Pettit runs it now, his father Richard took it over from his dad, when he got back from the Korean War. The bakery is a part of the fabric of Omaha and to honor the work of the Pettit family and the Richard Pettit’s service to his country, the city council just approved to commemoratively rename 16th Street after Richard Pettit. Be proud of that legacy Richard and THANK YOU for your service.
