Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors William “Bill” Post.  A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Bill served with the Army Air Corp and deployed in the Pacific during World War II. After the war, he took a part time job at Hekman, a plant that would later become Keebler.  Bill was later approached by Kellogg to create a breakfast food for a toaster.  The result, was the Pop Tart.  Earlier this week, Bill died at the age of 96 and while he is credited with the creation of the Pop Tart, in his obituary, he still humbly claimed it was a team effort.
