Lansing police and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are gathering information after human skeletal remains were found in a creek in Lansing.
The remains were found late Sunday afternoon by people walking along a creek bed in the 900 block of North Main Street in Lansing. They found skeletal remains in the creek and called 911.
The identity of the person has not been confirmed and the KBI said a positive identification may take longer than usual because of the condition of the remains. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME.
