Here are the 5 things you need to know

1. The mystery behind Alexi Navalny’s death deepens. The man in jail for opposing Putin, died mysteriously last week, then the body disappeared, only to be found days later with unusual brusing and Putin saying he died of something called “Sudden Death Syndrome”.  Yeah, that sounds legit.

2. A family that wins awards together, stays together.  Both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were winners at the People’s Choice Awards last night. Travis won for Athlete of the Year and Taylor won four awards — female artist, pop artist, concert tour and social celebrity.

3. On the same day Donald Trump lost his New York civil fraud trial and was orderd to pay $355M, Trump launched a new gold high top sneaker line called the “Never Surrender” high top.  At $399 a pair, they were listed as sold out by Saturday. There is another version for $199 plus a new cologne and perfume for $99.

4. Our lives have been a lie.  Apple is now saying that if you get your iphone wet, DO NOT put it in rice. The rice could send tiny little particles into your phone and damage it.  Instead, tap it against your hand to get any excess water out then put it in a dry place with good air flow and let it dryout over time.

5. and today is Presidents Day, nestled between Lincoln’s birthday and both of George Washington’s birthday’s.  You heard right, George had 2 birthdays. George Washington was born in Virginia on February 11, 1731, according to the then-used Julian calendar. In 1752, however, Britain and all its colonies adopted the Gregorian calendar which moved Washington’s birthday a year and 11 days to February 22, 1732.  February 22nd, this Thursday, is also National Margarita Day….so raise one, no wait, raise 2 margaritas for George.
