Charges have been filed against a Wichita man for a double homicide that took place at an east side hotel.
A hearing was held for 20-year-old John Griffin III and he was charged with capital murder, criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated endangerment of a child, and two counts of aggravated battery. His bond was set at $6 million.
Police were called to a hotel in the 7300 block of East Kellogg on February 24th and they found two people who had been shot in one of the rooms. One victim, 35-year-old Christopher Harrell, died later at a hospital, while 35-year-old Natisha Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene.
A young child was found at the scene unharmed, and the child was taken into protective custody.
No information has been released on a motive or the circumstances of the shooting.
