Today, we honor Chief Master Sergeant Michael Murray, in a letter written by his wife Heather.
My husband is my hero! Not only does he reach high things and open pickle jars but, he has also selflessly served our country as an Airman in the US Air Force for the past 30 years. Chief Master Sergeant Michael Murray wears his uniform with a sense of pride. I cannot begin to express how proud of him I am. Not once did he ever regret enlisting in the AF. Not once did he come home and say he hated his job. Not once did he wish he was doing something, anything else! He never asked “Why me?” when a deployment came up, he actually enjoyed most of them. He never complained about shift work, never complained about weekend duty, and never had an issue staying until the job was done.
Our life has been amazing. We have 3 amazing kids and 5 wonderful grandchildren. We’ve lived all over the world but, it’s time to say bye to this amazing career. On March 8th, Michael will wear his uniform one last time and say goodbye to the life and career he has loved so much.
Chief, I love you with all of my heart! Thank you for everything you’ve done for the kids and me, for all the sacrifices you made, and for always being the best Airman I know!
Today, Tomorrow, Always
Heather
