Today we honor Army Veteran Christy Gardner. Christy is a double amputee, and the founder of the non-profit Mission Working Dogs. She trains therapy and service dogs for veterans, as well as for inmates at Maine correctional facilities and other people struggling with health challenges. She also played on the U.S. team that took home the gold medal in both the first and second World Women’s Para Ice Hockey Challenge. All of this was inspired by her very own service dog “Moxie”. She developed a new sense of purpose and has devoted herself to training service dogs to serve others. Her story even inspired a children’s book. Thank you for helping others Christy and THANK YOU for your service
