UPDATE: Prosecutor Nathan Wade is resigning from the Donald Trump election interference case in Georgia. In a written statement, Wade says he’s doing it in the interest of democracy and to move the case forward as quickly as possible. On Friday, a Georgia judge ruled Fulton County DA Fani Willis can remain on former President Trump’s election interference case if Wade was removed. Trump’s legal team had tried to have Willis removed from the case due to her romantic relationship with Wade.
The judge said there was no “actual conflict” due to the relationship. However, he added that doesn’t mean Court condones what he called “this tremendous lapse in judgment or the unprofessional manner of the District Attorney’s testimony.”
