An unidentified woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition with burns after an apartment fire Thursday afternoon in west Wichita.
The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. at the Morgan’s Landing apartments at 3801 West 13th, near 13th and West Street.
Crews saw smoke and flames coming from the second floor and several people were rescued from a balcony.
The injured woman was found outside the apartment complex when crews arrived. The cause was under investigation but it’s believed a candle started the fire.
