Here are today’s 5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. Apparently an Apple a day keeps the competitors away, allegedly. The US Department of Justice yesterday filed a suit against Apple, alleging the tech giant violated antitrust laws in the smartphone market by making it exceedingly challenging for third parties to integrate with iPhones

2. Brain-computer interface company Neuralink released a video yesterday purporting to show a quadriplegic patient who had received one of its implants playing a game of online chess with his mind.

3. The NCAA Women’s tournament gets underway today, and the 2nd day of the 1st round for the men continues.  Bracket took a hit yesterday with some upsets, the biggest being the #14 Oakland Golden Grizzlies beating #3 seeded Kentucky, 80-76.  KU won their first round match up last night against the Samford Bulldogs, 93-89.  Not for nothin’ but that foul late in the game was all ball and shouldn’t have been called against Samford.

4. The story sounds like the one surrounding Mike Ross on the series suits. Gracemed’s embattled CEO Venus Lee has resigned after 14 years following mounting pressure regarding the validity of her credentials. The website Karlstack.com contacted Emory University and was told the school has no records of Venus Lee as a student in the academic program. Gracemed issued a statement saying Venus Lee will be greatly missed.

5.  and I woke up this morning and thought to myself, “You know what the world needs…..vegan octopus.” We, hallelujah…..my prayers have been answered. Just like imitation crab with a K, this is imitation octopus with a K.  It’s called Kraken and it’s made thanks to a 3D printing technology that turns fungi into a meat free alternative. While you’re at it, could you 3D print me a vomit bag….
