Heather Bowers has been battling cancer and the cancer is winning. With not much time, she had a dying wish. She wanted a pork plate from her favorite restaurant. The problem is, she lives in West Virginia and her favorite restaurant Mama Kwans is 6 hours away in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Determined to make this happen, Heather’s friend Mary reached out to Kevin Cherry, the owner of Mama Kwans and he didn’t hesitate. He packed up the food, put it in the car and drove to Heather’s house. Along with the food, Kevin brought some Outer Banks sunshine in the form of his big smile and kind, bright personality. Driving 6 hours for kindness, THAT’S AWESOME.
