Forbes has ranked Wichita as number 4 on the list of the Best Places to Move To in 2024.
The report says affordability is a reason for Wichita’s ranking, with the lowest media monthly housing cost in the top five at $930.
The report goes on to say: “We were impressed by the city’s 98% employment rate, highlighting its economy and the labor market, which is great for both its residents and businesses. That said, the city has seen a net loss of 163 residents from 2016 to 2020. If you value time outside, Wichita sees an impressive 128 sunny days per year.”
The report said the city has the highest crime rate of the top five cities, but it’s still overall fairly low, with 44 out of 1,000 residents impacted.
The top three cities on the list are Omaha, Nebraska; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The number five city on the list is Colorado Springs, Colorado.
