Today we honor Army Veteran Brenda Reed. For Brenda, her time in the Army was nothing short of a nightmare. Forced to run in men’s combat boots, and told to ‘suck it up and get back to work.” By the time she was ordered to the clinic her foot had broken in 4 places and healed wrong. She later twisted that same foot and it caused greater injury to her leg. Reed also survived sexual assault in the military and was diagnosed with PTSD. Despite all of that, she found her place on top of a mountain, skiing down on a bi-ski and this year is her eighth year attending the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic. Along with bi-skiing, she has participated in curling, fly-fishing and kayaking. Way to prove you can do anything Brenda and THANK YOU for your service.
