Newton police said a man was arrested late Friday night after a chase that led into Sedgwick County.
Newton officers and Harvey County deputies were investigating an aggravated assault case when they saw a suspect vehicle speed away from a location. The chase went west to east across Newton, then south on I-135 into Sedgwick County. The vehicle then went north on I-135 and ended when the suspect’s car ran out of gas near 101st Street North.
The driver, a 34-year-old Newton man, was arrested for aggravated assault and charges related to the chase.
