Electric power and cooling has been restored to the Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center in Wichita after a weekend fire and outage.

City officials said the fire on Saturday caused catastrophic damage to a transformer and that led to a loss of heating and cooling in the round portion of the building.   The city worked with Evergy and Southwestern Electric to get a new transformer and make repairs.   That work was completed on Sunday.

The city said no events were canceled, and with mild weather conditions there was minimal effect on visitor experience at the facility.
