Today we honor Marine Veteran Daniel Crawford. Deployed three times including during the Gulf War where he was part of a military evacuation of the U.S. embassy in Mogadishu, Somalia. Daniel left the military in 1995, but the trauma of some of the things he saw, didn’t leave him and he turned to alcohol. Daniel admits he failed life. He left his wife and child, couldn’t hold a job and at times was homeless. A few years ago he discovered the organization 23rd Veteran, got sober and the experience was life changing. Recently he completed what he called a “1,000 mile gratitude walk”, walking from Minnesota to Texas, to see the eclipse but spread hope along the way. In the process he raised more than $34,000 for 23rd Veteran. Thank you for sharing your story Daniel and THANK YOU for your service.
