Police are investigating a shooting in west Wichita that sent a teenager to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Officers went to the 1700 block of North Sheridan shortly after 1 p.m. on a report of a shooting, but they only found shell casings at the scene. A short time later, a 19-year-old victim appeared at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken into surgery and there was no word on his condition.
Police were checking into reports of a dark-colored sedan leaving the area around the time of the shooting. They’re still looking into the circumstances.
