Today’s we go to Africa for the Awesome. 27-year-old Russ Cook just did something truly amazing. The Englishman who calls himself the “Hardest Geezer” just completed a year long run, that took him the entire length of Africa. Cook faced an armed robbery in Angola, where bandits stole his and his team’s money, passports and equipment at gunpoint. He was nearly stopped in his tracks by the lack of a visa to enter Algeria, but diplomats at the country’s embassy in London managed to secure the necessary paperwork in time. He ran almost 10,000 miles or 385 marathons in 352 days. Why? To raise over a million dollars for homeless young people and clean drinking water in Africa. There is talking about it and then there is doing something about it…..Russ Cook….that’s awesome.
