Today, the Awesome comes from Illinois. Ka’Shawn Baldwin was on his way to an important job interview, hoping to get a job to provide for his 2-year-old daughter, when he got pulled over by officer Roger Gemoules. The car Ka’Shawn was in had expired tags and his license was expired too. Plot twist! Instead of giving him a ticket, Officer Gemoules listened to Ka’Shawn who said he was on his way to a job interview and it was the only way he could get there. Sure, he could have given him a ticket, but Officer Gemoules recognized doing his job could change the trajectory of this kids life in a negative way, so instead, he drove Ka’Shawn to that interview himself. Ka’Shawn got the job, Officer Gemoules got the satisfaction of knowing the impact he made in that young man’s life that day…and THAT’S AWESOME.
