The Sedgwick County Election Office has revealed the winning design for an “I Voted” sticker that will be distributed at polling places in the 2024 elections.   The designs were revealed by Election Commissioner Laura Rainwater during Wednesday’s regular meeting of the Sedgwick County Commission.

Rainwater said there were 127 entries from 12 local schools.  The contest was held for students in grades 6 through 12 to encourage student participation and awareness in the democratic process.

The winners:

1st Place – Yamilet Salazar, an 8th grade student at Mayberry Middle School in Wichita.

2nd Place – Madison Johnson, a 6th grade student at Clearwater Intermediate Middle School

3rd Place – Evelin Barranco, an 8th grade student at Pleasant Valley Middle School in Wichita

Rainwater said the entries were judged by a panel of local artists and graphic artists.

Salazar’s design will be on the “I Voted” stickers that will be given to voters who turn out for the August 6th primary election and the November 5th general election.  Rainwater said over 300,000 stickers will be printed.
