Wichita police have determined that there was no incident of violence against animals at Sim Park, west of downtown.

The Wichita Animal Action League posted a photo that was taken from a video of an incident that appeared to involve violence against dogs lying on the ground at the park.  The incident was alleged to have taken place Monday evening.

Police issued a statement Saturday saying that they were able to identify the man in the video, and he was extremely cooperative, explaining that he used that location to trim his dogs’ hair.

Officers were able to confirm that no dogs or any other animals were harmed and they checked the man’s dogs to confirm their health and determine that their hair had been trimmed.   Police said there was no evidence to support any allegation of dogs being harmed in any way at any time at the park.
