1. There was talk of drone strikes and presidential bribes, of a potential ruling “for the ages” and of the Founding Fathers, too. The Supreme Court heard more than 2 1/2 hours worth of arguments on the landmark question of whether former President Donald Trump is immune from prosecution in a case charging him with plotting to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The justices appeared likely to reject Trump’s absolute immunity claim.

2. Good news when it comes to how we use the internet. The Federal Communications Commission voted yesterday to reinstate Obama-era net neutrality rules. The regulations treat internet service as a public utility, like telecoms or water. As a result, the rules require broadband companies to treat all data equally without favoring or charging more for different websites. This helps fight the companies who are ‘throttling’ our speeds on certain video sites.

3. The big story around here this tomorrow with be the risk of severe weather. Our partners at KWCH Storm Team 12 say Saturday’s severe weather risk will include hail, wind, and a possible tornado. Showers and storms may start as early as lunch time Saturday but the severe weather is not expected until 3p or 4pm Saturday afternoon.

4. Round 1 of the NFL draft is done and the number 1 pick went as expected.  The Bears chose USC QB Caleb Williams. The Chiefs in a trade deal with their rivals the Bils moved up from 32nd to the 28th spot to snag Texas WR, Xavier Worthy who this year ran a 4.21 – 40 yard dash, the fastest in nfl combine history. Bills fans were left scratching their heads.

5. And it’s a dangerous croc that is striking fear in all of Disney, not just Captain Hook.  Disney is banning the famous brand of footwear in it’s parks, at least on escalators.  This is because of numerous incidents of  the shoes getting stuck in escalators – causing delays as they shut everything down to unstick them.  It’s not the shoe, it’s the fact that some people after all this time go all “Buddy The Elf” cause using moving stairs freaks people out.
