Today we honor Texas postal work and Marine Veteran Alvin Gauthier. Alvin just did something very special. He works for the post office in Grand Prairie, Texas where one day he came across old letters from World War II Army Veteran Marion Lamb. Marion’s family was from Jacksonville Arkansas. Feeling the need to get these old letters into the right hands, Alvin drove almost six hours to bring those letters home to Marion’s youngest sister and his niece. He said he did it because when he was in Iraq he wrote letters home and he knew how important that connection was. Marion has since died, and now thanks to this generous act, Alvin is family. Thank you for keeping Marion’s memory alive Alvin and to you and Marion, THANK YOU both for your service.
