Wichita police have reported finding someone dead inside a south side home on Wednesday.
Police received information that someone had been dead inside a home for two weeks in the 2100 block of South Volutsia. Officers got a search warrant and learned that there were several propane tanks inside the home. They called for the bomb squad to make sure the house was safe to enter, then they found someone deceased inside.
Investigators are working to identify the person and determine a cause of death. Anyone with information is urged to contact homicide investigators at 268-4407, or Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
Police said they’re in the preliminary stages of an investigation and they are working with the Sedgwick County Medical Examiner’s Office on the case.
