The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Augusta Department of Public Safety have announced a reward for information leading to an arrest in a 2023 murder case.

A family member found 93-year-old Joanne Johnson in her home at 1711 Robbins Street on September 3rd, 2023.   It’s believed she was killed between Saturday evening, September 2nd and Sunday evening, September 3rd.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has issued an executive order offering a $5,000 reward to anyone providing information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Johnson’s murder.   Johnson’s family has offered to match the reward, increasing it to $10,000.

Anyone with information, no matter how small the detail might seem, is urged to contact the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME or Augusta Crime Stoppers at 316-775-0055.
