School officials in Winfield said a threat led to a lockdown of the middle school and high school Wednesday afternoon.
No details were released, but the district said in social media posts that dismissal was delayed and buses were running late because of the lockdown. School officials said students were not in any direct danger.
Police were called to Winfield Middle School and Winfield High School to investigate, and the lockdown was lifted after about an hour.
