A Wichita woman has been sentenced to more than 18 years in prison for a high speed crash that left seven people injured.

A judge sentenced 28-year-old Paloma Adame to 219 months.  She pleaded guilty in March to attempted first degree murder and five counts of aggravated battery.

Adame was arrested after an October 23, 2022 crash that involved eight vehicles on Kellogg at 143rd Street East.   Police said she had been driving at 116 miles an hour and she told investigators she was attempting suicide.   A toxicology report said Adame had meth and THC in her system at the time of the crash.

Seven people were taken to hospitals after the crash, including Adame’s five-year-old daughter, who had a broken leg.
