A new chief executive officer has been chosen for the non-profit organization that provides services to the homeless and needy families in Wichita. HumanKind Ministries has announced Dawn Shepler will take over as CEO in June.
Shepler has served as executive director for the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Coalition in Wichita. She is a Wichita State University graduate and has also served as a parole officer with the Kansas Department of Corrections.
HumanKind board chair Scott Eilert said the agency will be looking to expand affordable housing options and provide supportive services for people in need. He said the board feels Shepler is the leader who can work with staff, donors, community partners and local governments to have the greatest positive impact.
The current CEO, LaTasha St. Arnault, will be stepping down June 1st to focus on family and look for other professional opportunities.
