Sedgwick County Commissioner Sarah Lopez filed Friday for a second term in the county’s 2nd District.
Lopez, who lives in Haysville, has filed in the Democratic race for District 2, which includes southwest Wichita, Haysville and Clearwater. In a press release, she said there is more work to do to improve the quality of life for families in southern Sedgwick County. She also wants to continue efforts to stabilize the county workforce and provide effective government services.
One other candidate has filed for District 2. Former Wichita City Council member Jeff Blubaugh has filed for the Republican nomination.
