1. It’s being called “A nightmare at 37,000 feet”.  It was a scene filled with blood, screams, and terror as a Boeing 777 Singapore Airlines passenger jet hit severe turbulence during a flight from London to Singapore.  The plane rapidly descended, pulled up and repeated this several times over the span of about 9o seconds before pilots regained control. One person died and several were injured.

2. If you haven’t seen some of the images and pictures of the insane hail damage that hit Yuma County, Colorado yesterday – it’s nuts and it’s all over social media

3. The fireworks rules in Wichita are changing again.  For the second year in a row, aerial firework can be bought and used but the time span when you can use them has shortened a little. Not to be a “Negative Nancy” – but it doesn’t matter. People buy what they want, shoot them off when they want them and very little can be done about it. Just my opinion.

4. Good news for your summer travel, President Biden announced the Energy Department says it will release 1 million barrels of gasoline from a Northeast reserve in 100,000 barrel increments to lower gas prices this summer. Sweet, now I can spend more money at Buc-ees.

5.  and don’t call it playing hooky from work…nope, the new term is “Quiet Vacationing”.  That’s right, many millennials in the U.S. don’t use all their PTO due to deadlines, pressure from their employers, you name it. Instead, they “quiet vacation”, meaning they use the current tools of being able to schedule when emails go out, stay logged in to teams, and other tricks to make it look like they are working when actually, they are taking some time to themselves to recharge and find that work-life balance. Or you could just take a nap in your office with the door closed like someone here at the radio station does.
