Police are investigating a shooting incident that left one person dead and another in critical condition Wednesday afternoon in southeast Wichita.

Officers were called to a massage parlor at 2723 Boulevard Plaza, which is near Lincoln and George Washington Boulevard, around 3:30 p.m.   They found two men who had been shot.   A man identified as 44-year-old Robexy Figueroa of Wyoming was found inside the business with several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  A 71-year-old man was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery, and he is expected to survive.

Police Captain Aaron Moses said the investigation is continuing, but it’s believed that Figueroa was trying to rob the massage parlor, and there was an exchange of gunfire.  The injured man is believed to be an employee of the business.
