UPDATE: Butler County officials have identified the boy who drowned near Andover as 3-year-old Michael Aikman
The boy was reported missing around 7 p.m. Saturday in the 12,000 block of SW Prairie Creek Road, near Andover. He was playing outside a family member’s home while an adult was doing yard work, and he wandered off a short time later. Law enforcement and rescue crews from Andover, Augusta and Butler County searched the area through the night. The boy was found around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
The Sheriff’s Office said this was an accidental drowning.
