Kansas transportation officials are planning lane closures on a major roadway in west Wichita, starting Monday. July 8th.
The closures will affect the Eisenhower Airport Parkway (Ridge Road). The center and left lanes will be closed, and there will be rehabilitation work that will involve painting the bridge rail, replacing expansion joints and additional standard repairs.
Work on the bridges is part of a three-phase bridge rehabilitation project scheduled for this year at the Eisenhower Airport Parkway/U.S. 54 interchange. The bridge work will take place consecutively. It is estimated that the last bridge in the three-phase project will be completed by early November, conditions permitting.
During construction, the speed limit will be reduced to 30 miles an hour in the work zone. Drivers are urged to be alert and watch out for construction workers. Left turns will not be possible on northbound and southbound Eisenhower Airport Parkway while the left lane is undergoing maintenance.
