A Sedgwick County jury has returned a guilty verdict for a Wichita man who was charged in the shooting death of a teenager last year.
The verdict was delivered Monday in the trial of 25-year-old Rico Brown on a charge of first degree murder. He was convicted in the July 3rd, 2023 death of 16-year-old Elrecus Nolan, Jr., who was found in a car that had rolled onto a curb at Mt. Vernon and Ellis.
Brown will be sentenced on August 28th. Another man who was charged in the killing, 22-year-old Dougqualynn Patterson, is scheduled for a hearing on August 15th.
