A Wichita man arrested after a fatal shooting in 2022 has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges in other cases.

Under a plea agreement, 21-year-old Laquavion Bentley entered guilty pleas to robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal discharge of a firearm, related to other cases filed in 2022 and 2023.   He will be sentenced in October.

The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said state charges against Bentley were dismissed because he pleaded guilty to the federal charges arising from the same set of facts.

Bentley was arrested after the shooting death of 21-year-old Devin Bills on September 15th, 2022.  Police said the shooting happened after an argument at a mobile home park in the 4500 block of South Hydraulic.  Federal court documents stated that Bentley fired his gun after shots were fired at him during the argument.
