Three Wichitans face charges after chase in Hutchinson

Three people from Wichita are facing charges in Reno County after a theft led to a chase with a rental box truck.

Hutchinson police said a theft was reported late Saturday afternoon at Dunham’s Sports at 1500 East 11th Avenue.  Kansas Highway Patrol troopers spotted a box truck leaving the area and tried to stop it at 15th and Halstead.  The truck did not pull over and troopers began a chase along with Hutchinson officers.   Stop sticks were used to end the chase in the 500 block of West 1st.

A 44-year-old Wichita man was arrested for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of stolen property, reckless driving while suspended, and a number of other charges.   A 39-year-old Wichita woman was arrested for felony interference with law enforcement, drug charges and other counts, and a 34-year-old Wichita woman was arrested for possession of stolen property and theft charges.

There were no injuries in the chase.
