Local, state and federal offices will be closed Thanksgiving Day, and the closings will extend into the weekend for some facilities and operations.
The City of Wichita released a list of closings and special hours for the weekend.
Closed Friday, November 29:Â City Hall, neighborhood resource centers, Transit administrative offices, Wichita Public Library locations, Park administrative offices & Recreation centers, CityArts, Mid-American All-Indian Museum, Cowtown, Great Plains Nature Center, Environmental Health office and the WATER Center.
Closed Saturday, November 30:Â CityArts and the Mid-American All-Indian Museum.
Closed Sunday, December 1:Â CityArts.
Transit and Paratransit service will run Friday and Saturday according to the Saturday schedule.
Special Hours:
- Friday, November 29:Â Brooks Landfill will be open 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Saturday, November 30:Â Brooks Landfill will be open 8 a.m.-noon.
- The Wichita Art Museum will be open regular hours starting Friday, and Cowtown will be open regular hours starting Saturday.
Sedgwick County offices will be closed Friday.
