An unidentified person was killed and another was injured early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in Wichita’s Delano neighborhood.
Emergency crews were called to the 200 block of Charles Street around 12:30 a.m. on a report of a car colliding with a tree. The engine separated from the chassis and the car caught fire. The driver and passenger were taken to a hospital and the passenger, 32-year-old Chekiel Wright, later died. The 32-year-old driver was being treated for serious injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash.
