A teenage driver died after his truck hit a tree and a home early Friday in Haysville, and police learned that he had been shot.
The crash was reported around 12:30 a.m. in the 6500 block of South Avenue A. The 19-year-old driver died and a female passenger had injuries unrelated to the shooting. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. No one in the home was hurt.
Officers found shell casings a short distance away and determined that a shooting had taken place before the crash.
