Today, I salute Veteran Devin Carlisle and the organization Helmets to Hardhats. Created by the Center for Military Recruitment, Assessment, and Veterans Employment, Helmets to Hardhats aims to solve the problem by helping military heroes transition into successful civilian careers in the building trades. Heroes like Devin Carlisle, a military veteran and now journeyman with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, are the program’s latest success story. He says many guys come out of the military not knowing what to do or what their next steps are. Helmets to Hardhats helped Devin provide for himself, his family, and his friends, all the people he cares about.
