Today, I salute Vietnam War Veteran Paul Manning Jr. Paul’s message is this: you’re never too old. At 85 years old, Paul is finally realizing his dream of becoming a published author. With the encouragement of one of his siblings, Paul has published his new book, Afro Blues from Heaven. It’s a poetic reflection of his life’s journey, being raised in rural South Carolina, fighting in the Vietnam War, and performing with some of the biggest names in music like Etta James, T-Bone Walker, Percy Mayfield, Muddy Waters, and more.
